Thursday 19th January

Today, Group 5 went on their first black run. It was bit bumpy but we all got down safely. We practised our slalom racing and will find out our times tomorrow. When Sarah fell over she saw Daisy zooming past - she was really surprised. Everyone found the runs a bit icy today, even our instructor Michel.
It was Lucy's birthday so we're going to get birthday cake. We all sang Happy Birthday to her.

After dinner we went bum sledging, Dr. Wallis went so fast he crashed into the barrier. Stanley went so fast he went under the barrier and down another hill. You went even faster when you used the proper sledge. Afterwards we ate the birthday cake and Daisy fell asleep on the table. We've had another awesome/epic day.

Wednesday 18th January

Waiting to go up the mountain

Today we gathered at the ski school ready for our morning lesson. Group 5 went straight to the top of the mountain and practised our small parallel turns. We had to ski backwards as well. Group 4 skied over to the next village - St. Jean D'Arves. It was a beautiful view from the top of the mountain. We skied our first red run today - it was amazing. Group 2 went backwards down the draglift track; we skied down from half way up the mountain. We had a little bit of a pile-up when Antoine, our instructor, took us over a jump - but we're all OK - it was great fun!

After lunch, we went to visit the swimming pool. It was an outside pool, it was strange swimming in warm water surrounded by thick snow. It was colder than we thought it would be.

After dinner we had a talent show when The PJ Girls ( Tilly, Daisy, Annabel and Lily-May) performed the cup song; Toby did The Swag Team Rap; James performed a card trick and Sarah, Harriet and Charlotte sang the 'R' song. Mr. Gott did a story card trick which amazed everyone. Teagan, Lucy and Sydney performed a shadow puppet show. As a finale we all did the manaquin challenge!

Lights out from Alfie, Stanley and James

Tuesday 17th January

The view from our hotel
Last night we did team building games, the parents joined in too! One of the games was to be creative and decorate a member of your team with toilet paper. Tilly's group won with the Statue of Liberty. The parents team dressed up as Toilet Tissue Swimmers.

Today was very tiring but we kept on going. Daisy skied down a ditch and survived, Harriet fell into a huge pile of snow and Sarah survived a blue run and was smiling at the end. Daisy's gran kept taking the other parents out in ski school.
Tonight we went the bar and had order our drinks in French. Toby was wearing sunglasses while saying 'swag'. Everyone's chilling out tonight.

Monday 16th January

Last evening we had a very informative talk about the ski way code; it showed us how to stay save on the ski slopes. We were woken up by Mr. Rich but Josh had to belly flop onto Samuel to get him to wake him up. After breakfast we tried to smuggle botttles of coke up to our room - Sam and Josh succeeded but Regan got caught and blamed it on the other two. Josh skied some blues and greens today,  Samuel and Reagan practised their snow plough turns on the nursery slopes.
Back at the hotel in Room 301, there was an unfortunate incident with the hairdryer burning out involving Regan and Samuel - too much hair product on Regan's behalf!
After Tuesday breakfast as we went to finish the blog, Mrs Machin got left behind as we went up to our rooms - oops!
Bye for now,
Josh, Samuel and Regan

Sunday 15th January

We started the day with a scrummy breakfast of croissants, cocoa pops, cornflakes, toast and fruit. Afterwards, we got our boots, skis and helmets fitted ready for our first lesson. We then went  to play in the snow outside our hotel. We made snowmen, had snowball fights and rolled down the hill. Annabel was buried by Toby in the deep snow; Charlotte, Harriet and Sarah made snow angels and Lily-May jumped backwards into a snow drift.
For lunch we had pizza ( much to Charlotte's disgust), everyone else thought it was way better than school pizza!
This afternoon we had our first ski lesson on the nursery slopes and easy runs to the village. Our ski instructors were helpful, friendly and spoke good English. After skiing and showers we had tasty hot chocolate and delicious cake.
Signing off from Annabel, Lily-May and Charlotte.
